Mesterfjellet School in Larvik, Norway, is a beautiful example of sustainable, modern Nordic architecture. The project is a collaboration between the Danish architecture office CEBRA and Norwegian collaborators Various Architects, SPINN Arkitekter and landscape architects Østengen & Bergo.

Wood is used extensively throughout the building to give the school a calm yet warm Nordic palette of brown, white and grey. The building’s wooden exterior is made from Kebony Character and over time will develop a silver-grey patina, allowing the building to blend in with Larvik’s vertical stone uprisings and boulder-like hills.

Kebony modified wood products are designed to outlast and outperform traditional softwoods while providing a sustainable alternative to tropical hardwoods. The Kebony process is 100% eco-friendly and food safe, giving you the beauty of real wood without compromising the environment.
