【Part2话题】雅思口语8分素材:对家庭重要的东西

Describe something important that has been kept in your family for a long time

这是一道事物类话题，描述一样对家庭重要的东西，这道题中，题目小问中提到了what、where、How long以及Why。

此道题目需要注意审题，不是随便一件家里有的东西就可以用来作答，题目对此有两个限定词，第一是对家庭重要的，第二是保留了很久的。开篇可以直入主题从介绍这件东西是什么开始，紧接着描述一下它的由来以及保留了多长时间，很显然在中间两小问很难在素材里较好地扩展，那么在最后一小问，它为什么对家庭重要即意义上可以多做一点文章。

题目分解：

第一问“What it is” 什么东西？

回答这一小问，同学们可以拓展自己的思路，回忆一下自己家里有什么东西保存了很久的，它可以是一件比较有年代感的实物，比如说金银珍宝古董、一张很久以前拍的相片、一件家具等等；它也可以是一个存在已久的虚拟事物，比如代代相传的家风家训、一种家人的习惯等。然后把这件东西进行一个比较详细的细节描述，对外观形状、颜色、数量等等都可以进一步展开。

第二问Where it came from” 怎么得来的？

这一问可以理解为对一个场景和过程的描述，简单的回忆一下它的由来，比如可以是老一辈买来送给晚辈的礼物，也可以是过去某个时刻的手工制品，还可以是随着岁月的流逝承载了回忆所以一直保留下来了等等。

第三问How long it has been in your family” 在家里存在多久了？

这一小问是事物类话题的常见小问，大家只要是结合自己的实际情况进行回答即可。回答的过程中注意时态正确性。

第四问“And explain why it is important for your family” 为什么对家庭很重要？

最后一个小问是可以进行思路扩展和上升高度的。首先，问题本身的回答上，即解释东西的意义。可以从两个角度来回答：一是物品本身的价值很高，十分贵重；二是物品承载的精神层面的含义很宝贵，比如代表了老一辈对晚辈的祝福；记录了一段时间的历史；承载了一段美好的回忆，不舍得丢掉；物品已经成为家庭的一部分，是所有成员的一种习惯等等。还可以说相对于物品本身，其实家庭成员更在乎的是它所含有的情感。

The important thing that has been kept in my family for a long time was the gold ornaments my grandma made for me. In the year when I was born, grandma bought a set of gold ornaments for me, the implication of which was to protect my safety and health.

Grandma said that this represented her blessing. From the year when I was born, my parents helped me to keep this set of gold ornaments. They told me that this was very important for us and it represented the love of the older generation for our younger generation. Parents said they would keep it for me until I get married, and after my marriage, they will send it to me. They hope that I can keep this set of gold jewelries well and pass it on from generation to generation, which is the best wish of each generation to their children. It has been more than 20 years, and this set of jewelries are still well protected, which is being put in the safest cabinet in our home. My parents will take it out every once in a while. Although our family moved away from the original city because of my parents' work, and we could not continue to live together with my grandma in the same city, whenever we took out this group of gold jewelries, we would think of grandma's sincere love and care for us, and we feel that grandma has been with us all the time.

I will fulfill the wishes of my grandmother and my parents, and also pass this gift on from generation to generation in the future, which means continuing to pass on the blessing of the older generation.
