Prof. Sureshkumar Balasubramanian

Prof. Balasubramanian performed postdoctoral studies with Prof. Detlef Weigel at Max-Planck Institute for Developmental Biology from 2002 to 2007. He became a Lecturer at School of Biological Sciences, University of Queensland in 2007. He joined the School of Biological Sciences,Monash University in January 2011, where he was appointed Associate Professor. Prof. Balasubramanian received the Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowship and Larkins fellowship. His group is interested in deciphering mechanisms through which plants sense and respond to changes in temperature. They use a combination of mutant analysis, natural variation and genomics to understand thermal responses in plants.
