       公共英语考试中如何让自己的说话/写作内容更有变化，第一步就是戒掉but。

    一直讲but but but感觉实在是很枯燥乏味，下方看看更好的表达语气转折的英语表达。

    

　　

1.However

    However 然而

    However可单独成句，通常放在句首，后面紧接着逗号。

    However, he isn’t qualified enough for the job.

    however亦可以夹在两个子句中，前方需分号，后方为逗号。

    This seems to be a fair way; however, we still should carefully consider every aspect.

    这似乎是一条公平的道路;但是，我们仍然要仔细考虑各个方面。

　　

2.On the other hand

    On the other hand 另一方面

    e.g. The film lost money. On the other hand, reviews were by and large favourable. 

这部电影赔了钱；但从另一方面来看，评论大体上是积极的。

    

    

　　

3. Having said that

    Having said that 尽管如此

    e.g. I sometimes get worried in this job. Having said that, I enjoy doing it, it's a challenge. 

我有时会为这份工作而感到忧虑。话虽如此，我还是蛮喜欢干的，因为这是一个挑战。

　　

4. By contrast

    By contrast/in comparison 相较之下

    e.g. By contrast, there are some people who actually enjoy work. 

相比之下，有一些人是真的喜欢工作。

    

　　

5. Then again

    5. Then again 话说回来

    e.g.  She was early, but then again, she always is. 

她到得早，不过话又说回来了，她总是早到。

    

　　

6. Yet

     Yet 然而

    e.g. He's overweight and bald, (and) yet somehow, he's attractive.

他肥胖且秃头，然而不知为何却很有魅力。

    yet解释为然而时，通常放句中，前后面皆需要逗号。

　　

7. On the contrary

    7.on the contrary 恰恰相反

    e.g. It's no trouble at all. On the contrary, it will be a great pleasure to help you. 

这根本不麻烦。相反，我很乐意帮助你。

    

　　

8. Although

    although/though 虽然

    e.g. She walked home by herself although she knew that it was dangerous.

    她一个人步行回家，尽管她知道那样做很危险。

　　

9.Nevertheless

    nevertheless / nonetheless   尽管如此

    e.g.  The news may be unexpected. Nevertheless, it is true. 

这消息可能是出乎意料的，然而是真实的。

    

　　

10. Different from

    different from 不同于

    e.g. Different from his position, she claims that this plan still has a lot of flaws.

    不同于他的立场，她觉得这个计划还是有很多的瑕疵。

　　

11. Instead

    instead 取而代之的是

    e.g. Learning a language is not merely about memorizing vocabulary. Instead, it has many aspects to be paid attention to.

    学一个语言不仅仅在于背单词。还有很多方面我们必须要注意。

    

    

　　

12. Alternatively

    alternatively 或者

    e.g. The agency will make travel arrangements for you. Alternatively, you can organize your own transport. 

旅行社将为你安排旅行，或者你也可以自己安排交通工具
