问：Tell me something about your job.

答：Well, I am an English teacher. I work in an English center. I have been working there for about 3 years until now. Teaching a whole of variety of courses, such as reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary. I like my job, because it is challenging but interesting. I think the best thing is satisfaction I get from helping my students to achieve their goals, which is the most important for any good teacher. Besides, I enjoy working together with my colleagues who are very kind and friendly. We trust each other, and we are a wonderful team. But one setback of my job is the long hours that are sometimes required. It is really stressful and demanding. I think that is the worst part of my job.

‍‍‍‍‍问：What do you think of the training you got in the university?

答：They were both compulsory classes and elective classes. I think most of the courses are very helpful and educative. However, some of the compulsory classes are so boring that I don’t like, such as linguistic science and politics. But I think I was provided with a good education. I have learned many specialized skills, thinking skills and analytical skills and a lot of theoretical knowledge. I also learned some problem-solving skills, communication skills and how to adapt to new environment. I think all of these skills will improve my ability to survive in intense competition in the near future and will provide me with more opportunities.‍‍‍‍‍

问：Talk about the famous person you admire.

答：I think the person I admire best is Stephen William Hawking. He graduated from  university of Cambridge, which is one of the world famous universities. He is mainly engaged to the research of the universe and the black hole, as one of the greatest physicists in the world. He published many works, such as A Brief History of Time, which changed the way that we understand the universe. Besides his academic achievements, I think his bravery and persistence are worthy of my learning.  Although he is physical handicapped, he doesn’t give up himself.  He is broken in body but firm in spirit. That is what I admire him the most.

问：What do you intend to do after you graduate?

答：I want to go on with my studies and receive a doctor degree after I graduate. My major is pharmacy, I hope to engage in the research of medicines to cure rare diseases in our society. Every year numerous people die of cancers, Aids and diabetes all over the world. Many families are suffering from great difficulties, depression and hardship for losing the loved ones. So, saving people’s life is what I want to do for the rest of my life. If I can go further with my studies, I would try to find a job. I hope to work in a medical company where I can devote myself to researching medicines.

问：What do you think of telling the truth?

答：Well, it depends. Mostly I think telling the truth is necessary. Honesty is regarded as a core virtue in our tradition. An honest man is more likely to earn respect than the lying man. We all want to live in a truthful community where we can trust each other. Besides, telling the truth makes person less stressful. Because when someone tells a lie, then he or she needs to tell more lies to accommodate the first lie. Moreover, telling the truth is helpful in solving problems. However, sometimes we also need to tell a white lie to reduce embarrassment and conflicts.

问：What is your future plan?

答：Well, I want to be an English teacher in the future. I am really interested in teaching students. I worked as a part-time tutor in a small English center for 2 years up to now. And I want to teach IELTS at TOEFL in the near future. I also plan to write a vocabulary book by myself. I have many effective methods and useful experience on how to remember enormous vocabularies. For it’s a boring job for many Chinese students learning language. I believe that my vocabulary book will be very popular.
