My name is Yu Shan. I major in English at Zheng Zhou University. In the past three years, I have spent most of my time on study. I have passed CET 4/6 and I have acquired the basic knowledge of XXX （your major） both in theory and in practice. Scores don’t mean anything, but they do reflect my efforts and dedication to study.

Last year, I interned at a teaching provider and was lucky to contribute to a campaign, which enabled me to enhance my research and analysis skills. This experience promoted my level and performance to pursue a career in this field, which is why I’m here today.

In the past three years I have been sitting for the postgraduate examination and at the same time I will continue to explore deeper fields which I like. In my spare time, I have some interests like many other young people, well, football, driving and reading books, I really favour books, especially those about XXX.What’s more, I am a person with great perseverance,for example, in the campus life, I found that XXX made me excited, so I always kept working hard for it. There are several factors explaining my endeavor. Above all, the academic atmosphere deeply appealed to me when I came here last summer. In my opinion, as one of the most famous XXX in our country, it provides people with enough room to get further achievement. This is the first reason.

The second one is that I really like research in XXX throughout my life. It is my favorite that I can research in this major which I pay attention to. I suppose this is the most important reason in my decision.

Thirdly, I learn a lot from my XXX during the past two years. However, I think further study is my mere demand to realize self-value. Life is precious. It is necessary to seize on any chance for self-development, especially in this competitive modern world.

In a word, I am looking forward to making a solid foundation for future profession after two years study here.

There are four members in my family: my parents, my XXX and me. My father is an engineer in XXX. He often deepens research in his profession, and my mother is a teacher. Climbing at weekends is our common interest. The fresh air and beautiful scenery can help us get rid of fatigue, which can strengthen our relation, too. During my preparing for coming here, my parents and grandmother fully support me and would like to finance me.

XXX University is the average one in the province. It was founded in XXX and was expanding to the area and finally develops into a comprehensive university with efforts of generations, which influences more and more students and produces a lot of top people for the society.
