不知不觉已经九月中旬,大家是不是都已经在课堂上了呢
听说霍格沃兹也已经开学了,大家都成功入学了咩
前两天我看了一篇外刊,就是介绍霍格沃兹fa学院的
然后就频繁地读到一个单词,大家也都认识
"spell"
看到这个单词不知道大家第一反应的意思是啥反正我是“拼读,拼写”
spell 在这篇文章里的意思是“魔法,咒语”,
其实就是“熟词僻义” , 这里介绍几个大家不知道的意思
僻义:动词、名词皆有
1)作名词
咒语,符咒:
例如: a magic spell 魔咒; The wizard recited a spell.巫师念了一道咒语。 cast a spell 施魔法
一段时间;休息期:
例如: I spend a brief spell on the Washington Post.我曾在《华盛顿邮报》工作过一段时间。
魅力,魔力:
例如: Even sensible Frank had fallen under her spell.甚至连一向理智的弗兰克都被她迷住了。

2)作动词
导致:
