阳民解读2021诺贝尔经济学奖经济学家的杰出贡献及应读书单

20211011日,2021年诺贝尔经济学奖得主揭晓,三位经济学家David CardJoshua D.Angrist Guido W.Imbens共同获得获得这一奖项。

David Edward Card ,生于 1956年,是美国加利福尼亚大学的劳工经济学家和经济学教授(is a Canadian American labour economist and Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley)。

David Card1978年获得女王大学文学学士学位,1983年获得普林斯顿大学经济学博士学位,在博导Orley Ashenfelter的指导下完成了题为“长期劳动合同中的指数化”的博士论文(earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen's University in 1978 and his Ph.D. degree in economics in 1983 from Princeton University, after completing a doctoral dissertation, titled "Indexation in long term labor contracts", under the supervision of Orley Ashenfelter)。

David Card博士毕业后在芝加哥大学商学研究院担任商业经济学助教(at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, where he was Assistant Professor of Business Economics from 1982 to 1983),1983年至1997年在普林斯顿大学任教,之后移居伯克利(He was on the faculty at Princeton University from 1983 to 1997, before moving to Berkeley)。从1988年到1992年,他是世界顶级杂志之一的《劳动经济学杂志》的副主编,从1993年到1997年,他是全球排名第一第二的《计量经济学》杂志的联合主编。从2002年到2005年,他是全球第一的《美国经济评论》的联合编辑(From 1988 to 1992, Card was Associate Editor of the Journal of Labor Economics and from 1993 to 1997, he was co-editor of Econometrica.
